South Australia – Wauraltee Campground

Welcome to Wauraltee — a sleepy stretch of coast on the Yorke Peninsula where the land is flat, the wind is honest, and the beach feels like it forgot to tell anyone how good it is. If you like your sessions remote, low-key, and zero fuss, this is your kind of spot.

The gradient here is gentle — wide, firm sand that stretches forever and keeps the water shallow for ages. Perfect for learners, cruisers, and foil crew alike. SE to SW is the wind ticket, with consistent breezes through the summer months and plenty of room to rig, ride, and reset.

You’ll be camping just behind the dunes — basic bush setup with a drop toilet and not much else. No water, no power, no bookings — just grab your permit online and roll in. 4WD recommended if you’re planning to get down onto the beach itself, but 2WD can usually make it to the main camp if it's dry.

Wauraltee’s not flashy. There’s no crowd, no noise, no stress. Just wind, tide, and the feeling that you’ve tapped into something simple and good.

Bring boots if you’re soft-footed. Bring firewood. Bring your own water. But most of all — bring time. You’ll want to stay longer than planned.
