Victoria – Crofts Bay
Welcome to Crofts Bay — a tucked-away corner west of Peterborough, hidden inside the rugged limestone backdrop of the Bay of Islands. It’s scenic, isolated, and rarely touched by kiters — but when it’s on, it’s something special.
Best in a S to SE breeze, where the wind funnels cleanly across the bay and over the offshore reefs. Those reefs break up the swell and shape a lower-energy shoreline with smoother water close to the beach. That said, you’re still working with a narrow strip of steep beach and some surgey shorebreak.
There's very little launch space, no facilities, and no forgiving margins — this one’s for kiters with good skills and solid judgement. It's more about the serenity than the session, but when the conditions align, it’s a beautiful place to throw down some quiet lines.
A few parking spots are available along the clifftop — but once you're on the sand, it’s just you, the breeze, and that wide ocean energy.
