South Australia – Cape Banks

Welcome to Cape Banks, right on the far edge of South Australia near Carpenter Rocks — wild, windy, and not for the faint of heart.

This headland sticks out just enough to scoop up anything with south in it. SW blows cleanest, bending into the bay with just enough angle to serve up cross-shore lines. Powerful swell slams into offshore reef and wedges back in toward the beach, serving up a playground for foilers and wave riders who know how to pick a line.

The terrain? Rocky platforms, kelp beds, and sand tucked in-between. Mid tide’s your window — low tide can expose too much reef, and on full tide it gets punchy quick.

You’ll want booties, a mate, and a solid plan — there’s no safety net out here. But if you’re chasing that raw southern energy, Cape Banks will deliver.
