Western Australia – Eagle Bluff (Shark Bay)

Welcome to Eagle Bluff — where ancient cliffs overlook glassy turquoise flats, and the wind cuts through like it’s got somewhere to be. Tucked about 20 clicks south of Denham, this spot feels like the edge of the world — and on a good seabreeze, it absolutely goes off.

The setup’s wild: crystal-clear, waist-deep water stretching out forever, steady SE to S winds from October through March, and barely a soul in sight. You’re riding in a marine sanctuary, with dugongs, turtles, rays, and shovel-nose sharks drifting underneath you like you’re part of a nature doco.

This spot is prime for downwinders — one of the best in WA. Launch at Eagle Bluff and cruise the 20km all the way back into Denham. No buildings, no traffic, just wind in your kite and sea life sliding past below. Bring a mate and sort your pickup — it’s a long walk back if you stuff it.

There’s no facilities, no shade, and no second chances. You're out there. So pack water, check your gear, and don’t wing it — unless you’re winging it. Literally.

Eagle Bluff isn’t just a kite spot — it’s a proper experience. Wild, beautiful, and a little humbling. Respect the reef, watch for the wildlife, and prepare to have your mind blown.
