South Australia – Aldinga Beach

Welcome to Aldinga — where the Fleurieu Peninsula drops its guard and serves up a big open beach with clean lines and bold skies. It’s a favourite for Adelaide kiters looking to escape the crowds without venturing too far.

On a solid southerly to southeast, Aldinga delivers — long stretches of firm sand for easy setup, and side-on wind that fills in smoothly across the wide bay. The beach gradient is gentle, so you’ll be walking a bit at low tide, but once you’re out, it’s pure flow. Butter days do happen, but expect a bit of bump and chop when the wind kicks in hard.

There’s plenty of space for all levels — beginners can stay close to shore, while the more adventurous can push downwind towards Maslin Beach for a long, looping ride with the hills behind you and nothing but blue ahead.

Watch out for beach traffic — vehicles are allowed here, so keep an eye out during peak times. And while the vibes are friendly, give the swimmers space near the flagged zones.
