Peaceful Bay – WA
Tucked between Walpole and Denmark on WA’s south coast, Peaceful Bay lives up to its name—until the wind picks up. When the summer SE hits, this little bay turns into a clean, quiet freeride gem.
Works best in SE winds, which come in cross-shore from the left. SW is rideable but more cross-on and can get gusty near the hills. Wind builds through the afternoon and tends to blow strongest in summer.
Launch from the main beach — soft sand, easy access, and plenty of room. The bay offers mostly flat to lightly rolling water with the occasional kicker on the outside. At lower tide, the inner bay flattens out even more.
Great for intermediate riders and above. Not a teaching hotspot, but the mellow conditions make it a good progression spot if you’re confident upwind.
No major hazards, just respect the swimmers in peak season and keep an eye on the current near the headland. Basic facilities near the campground, and the vibe is pure south coast chill.
