Victoria – Allestree

Welcome to Allestree, just east of Portland — wide open, windswept, and often all to yourself. This stretch along Dutton Way serves up solid S to SW winds with long beach runs and punchy Southern Ocean swell.

Best launched from one of the beach access tracks — check the sections between groynes for enough space at low to mid tide. Waves jack up quick here, especially on bigger swells, and rips can rip. If you’re not confident in surf, give it a miss.

Ideal for downwinders towards Portland when the breeze is cranking. Bring a mate, pack light, and set a pickup at the boat ramp or somewhere closer to town. No facilities, no safety net — just wild coast and wind in your teeth.

Local tip: erosion and seawalls change things fast here, so what worked last season might be buried now. Scout it first.
