Red Bluff Bay – WA
Just north of the iconic Red Bluff point, tucked inside the wide open bay, is a stretch of beach that actually works for kiting — if you know what you're in for.
With enough west in the wind (W to WSW), it blows in side-onshore to cross-shore here, wrapping around the headland and filling into the bay. It’s not the cleanest or steadiest wind — the bluff creates a decent shadow — but once you're out past the break, it’s manageable.
The real challenge is the shore break. It’s no joke. Getting off the beach means timing your launch right and punching through some solid dumpers. Not beginner-friendly — but for confident riders chasing a remote session in wild scenery, it’s doable.
You’re launching onto open ocean with a heavy, reefy point break to your south and nothing but raw coastline beyond. Flat sections are rare — expect rolling swell and chop. No rescue, no backup. Just you, the wind, and a very real sense of isolation.
Bring everything. There are no facilities, no shops, no service. But if the wind plays nice and you’re up for the effort, this little corner of the Bluff delivers a rugged, off-grid ride few will ever tick off.
