Yardie Creek – Cape Range, WA

Welcome to Yardie, where rugged desert cliffs meet crystal-clear Indian Ocean blues. This remote spot at the end of the national park road is a gem for those willing to make the drive.

In the afternoons, when the seabreeze pipes in from the southwest, the wind funnels cleanly through the creek mouth, turning on reliable cross-shore sessions. You’ll want to aim for mid to high tide — the reef gets a little sketchy otherwise.

Out front, you’ll find expansive turquoise flats with pockets of reef and rollers further out — perfect for mixing up your session. It’s mostly for intermediate to advanced riders, but if you know your limits, the vibe here is all-time.

Want solitude? Cruise downwind around the point and find your own little lagoon playground. Just keep your wits about you — it’s remote, and walking back with your gear in 40°C heat isn’t on anyone’s bucket list.
