Western Australia – Bundegi Beach (Exmouth)
Welcome to Bundegi — Exmouth Gulf’s calm side, just a few minutes north of town. It’s not dramatic like Cape Range or Gnaraloo, but it’s got its own rhythm — quiet mornings, flat water, and enough space to move if you know what you're doing.
This is the local go-to for early wind foil sessions, SUP missions, and easterly morning kiting when the conditions line up. It’s sheltered, glassy, and shallow close in, which makes it beginner-friendly — but also a bit boring if you’re looking to send it. Still, for a warm-up session or low-stakes play, it’s got plenty to give.
Best launch is near the boat ramp — sandy bottom, easy parking, and no fuss. Just keep an eye out for boat traffic and fishers setting up on the beach. The jetty’s got its own thing going too — not kite-related, but worth a snorkel if the wind’s a no-show.
Facilities? Minimal. A toilet block, boat ramp, and a shade or two. That’s it. No shops, no hire stands, no iced lattes. Just Exmouth's back pocket and a slice of still water.
Bundegi isn’t epic. It’s useful. A warm-up zone, a downwinder start point, or a wind foil playground when the Gulf switches on. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
