South Australia – Corny Point
Welcome to the ragged tail of the Yorke Peninsula — Corny Point, where turquoise calm meets southern ocean muscle. This place is a true two-faced gem: butter-flat on the eastern side and wild with rolling swell on the western flank.
When the SE to SW winds kick in, the point lights up. Freestylers and foilers cruise the sheltered bays, while the wave chasers head out to dance with the ocean’s edge. The terrain is mixed — shallow sandbars, exposed reef, and the occasional sneaky rock. Mid to high tide is your best bet, especially if you like your ankles unbruised.
It’s remote but not unreachable. The kind of spot where you pack a few extra litres of water, lose reception, and gain a grin that doesn’t wash off for days. Respect the space, ride with soul, and you’ll find Corny Point serves up exactly what you came looking for — adventure and wind-blown clarity.
