Victoria – Werribee South
Welcome to Werribee South — metro-close and mellow, with a stretch of sand that faces into Port Phillip Bay and serves up light wind sessions on the regular. It’s the kind of spot that doesn’t get your heart racing, but always leaves you smiling.
Best on a southerly, southeasterly, or south-southwesterly breeze — clean and consistent as it rolls up the bay. Winds typically sit around 10–15 knots, ideal for foilers, wingers, and cruisy kite sessions. Avoid anything with north or west in it — gusty, blocked, and not worth the drive.
The beach itself is low gradient with mostly flat water and a bit of chop once you’re out past the shoreline. There’s a wind shadow near the land thanks to trees and buildings, so you’ll want to tack out a bit for cleaner flow.
Easy parking, decent launch space, and usually no crowd. Facilities are minimal, so bring what you need and pack it out.
Werribee South is the quiet achiever — no hype, just chill sessions and clean air, right on Melbourne’s doorstep.
