Victoria – Warrnambool
Welcome to Warrnambool — a punchy southern coastline where the swell doesn’t ask for permission and the wind turns up like it owns the place. It’s raw, open, and made for kiters who like a bit of edge in their sessions.
Lady Bay is the go-to — long beach, plenty of room to launch, and when the southerly cranks in, you’re laughing. Flat sections closer in, with building swell out the back. Perfect for twin-tip carving or wave hunts depending on your mood. Southerly to SE winds are your friends here, and when it’s on, it’s proper on.
Logans Beach delivers the goods for wave riders — exposed, clean, and often serving up head-high rollers with wind to match. More power, more punch, and less room for mistakes.
The gradient is mellow enough to launch comfortably, but don’t switch off — the Southern Ocean doesn’t do favours. Expect 10–20 knots on a typical seabreeze day, but this coast can surprise you with a system pushing through.
No wind? Still worth a check — the whales come through here, and the place doesn’t stop being beautiful just ‘cause your kite won’t fly.
Warrnambool’s for the ones who don’t mind a bit of salt in their eyes and power in their lines. Bring your game face — and maybe a backup kite.
