Western Australia – Applecross

Welcome to Applecross, sitting on the edge of the Swan River and known for its reliable summer seabreezes and flat water. It’s a metro go-to for a quick session after work or when you don’t have time to head west for the surf.

Works best on a solid S to SSW breeze — typically kicking in from late morning and peaking mid-arvo. October to April is the sweet spot, with plenty of days in the 15–20 knot range. Flat water makes it ideal for beginners, foilers, or anyone looking to dial in tricks without worrying about chop.

The launch at Melville Beach can get tight, especially when it’s busy, so keep it clean and launch over the water. Parking’s close, and there are toilets and shade nearby — but space on the grass goes quick when it’s firing.

Heads up: gusts happen, especially when the wind pushes past 20 knots.

Good spot if you want to sneak in a session without the mission. Flat, friendly, and local.
