South Australia – Stansbury
Welcome to Stansbury — a sleepy little oyster town on the Yorke Peninsula that turns into a mirror-flat playground when the breeze kicks in. It’s not loud, it’s not flashy — but when it’s on, it’s magic.
S to SE winds funnel beautifully into the bay, giving you reliable cross-onshore conditions and long, cruisy sessions. The water? Shallow. The gradient? Gentle. On a mid to high tide, it’s like kiting on a sheet of glass. Expect gust discrepancies of around 5 knots — one moment mellow, next minute lit.
Launch from the grassy foreshore near the jetty — clean, easy, and just a stone’s throw from town. Watch your tides though. Below 1.5 metres, it’s a long walk to get wet.
Beginner friendly, foil friendly, and a solid option for laid-back freeride days.
