South Australia – Gull Rock, Port Willunga

Welcome to Gull Rock — the lone stone monarch floating just offshore from the ochre cliffs of Port Willunga. It's not a kite spot in the classic sense, but it is the kind of place that makes you stop, stare, and wish you had your drone, your wetsuit, and nowhere else to be.

Sitting just south of Blanche Point, this stretch of coast is all about clean lines and cinematic backdrops. The winds here can work — especially SE to NE — but the launch zones are tight, the cliffs make it gusty, and the swell loves to bite if you're not paying attention. Advanced riders only if you're thinking of getting wet here.

Most days, though, this one’s better as a visual feast: that golden-hour glow, that crystal water curling over reef, and Gull Rock standing watch like it’s been waiting for your lens.
