Victoria – Southcombe Beach – Port Fairy

Welcome to Southcombe Beach — the quieter southern edge of Port Fairy where the wind’s clean, the swell’s steady, and the crowds are nowhere to be seen. It’s a straight-up, no-fuss stretch of sand backed by dunes and bushland, serving up sessions with that Southern Ocean flavour.

Best on a southwest to southeast breeze — cross-onshore and usually steady, especially in the afternoons when that ocean push starts doing its thing. Expect 15 to 25 knots on a good day, with a bit more bite when a front’s rolling through.

The beach is low gradient and forgiving, with space to rig and launch. Out past the shorebreak, you’ll find rolling swell and small kickers, perfect for twin tippers or anyone looking to stretch out some long tacks down the coast.

There’s parking nearby, but no major facilities — so bring your water, your gear, and whatever else you need to stay salty for a few hours.
