Victoria – Port Fairy Bay

Welcome to Port Fairy Bay — where the charm of a sleepy coastal town meets reliable Southern Ocean wind. This bay stretches wide with open beaches and clean air, giving you space to ride without the scene.

Works best on a southwest to southeast wind. Summer arvos light up with 15–25 knots, offering clean, rideable wind across the bay. The water’s a mix of gentle swell and smooth sections depending on tide and wind strength — good for both freestyle and down-the-line flow.

East Beach is the main launch — long, open, and beginner-friendly, but make sure you stay clear of the flagged swimming zones. Those are strictly off-limits for kiters. South Beach (a.k.a. the Golfie) brings more exposure and punch, better for intermediate and up when you're chasing a bit more wave and less crowd.

There’s parking, toilets, and post-session snacks just a walk away — the town’s close and cruisy. Just check local forecasts, tide timing, and don’t let the calm exterior fool you — this bay can turn it on when the elements line up.
