Western Australia – Ledge Point

Welcome to Ledge — the chilled-out little cousin of Lancelin just down the road. If you’re over the crowd or want to squeeze in a sneaky solo session away from the chaos, Ledge is your answer.

Summer seabreezes from the SW start puffing in around lunch and lock in strong by early arvo. Cross-onshore, clean, and made for long runs stacked with boosts and buttery flats behind the reef breaks.

The beach is wide with easy rigging and launching, so beginners are sweet here — just keep an eye on where the reef starts poking through on lower tides. High tide’s easier on the feet and better for cruising, but you can still find fun little kickers to play with on the drop.

No surf schools, no fuss — just your gear, the ocean, and a van full of snacks. Locals are mellow, and the town’s small but welcoming. If you need a feed, the Ledge Point Country Club does the trick.

Definitely worth a stop if you’re heading north — or even as a quick strike mission from Perth. Same wind as Lano, half the people, and all the fun.
