Victoria – Johanna Beach

Raw, remote, and definitely not for the faint-hearted. Johanna is all grunt and muscle — long open beach, wild swell, and often howling winds straight off the Southern Ocean.

When it lines up (mainly W to SW winds), it’s like dancing with a freight train. Big rips, heavy shore dump, and shifting sandbars mean this one’s strictly for experienced riders with solid surf skills and safety sense.

No patrolled beach, no easy launch, and plenty of power in the water. If you’re not 100% switched on, skip it. But for those who are... it’s a cold, windy beast that’ll leave you buzzing.

Tip: Best in lighter SW winds with a medium tide. Bring backup gear and don’t come alone. No real backup services out here. In the lighter winds intermediate suitable depending on Swell size… absolute mountains roll into here!
