Victoria – St Kilda

Welcome to St Kilda — Melbourne’s go-to urban session spot where high-rises meet high lines. Just minutes from the CBD, this place is always buzzing with kiters, windsurfers, wingers, and curious beachgoers who didn’t realise today was a 20-knot day.

It works best on a southerly to southwesterly — the classic Port Phillip seabreeze. When it fills in through summer (Dec–March), expect 10–20 knots, with the occasional punchier afternoon session. The wind can be patchy close to shore thanks to buildings and trees, but once you're out past the marina line, it steadies up.

The water’s mostly flat with a bit of chop, making it perfect for beginners, freestyle, or just looping around with city views behind you. There's loads of space to launch but plenty of foot traffic, so keep it tidy and eyes-up on your lines.

You’ll find parking, public toilets, and a crowd that ranges from first-timers to locals throwing down tricks in front of Luna Park. It’s got energy, chaos, and convenience all rolled into one.

St Kilda isn’t about solitude — it’s about community, progression, and squeezing in a sesh before you hit the pub.
